Islamic finance (Mu'amalat)

As the title above mentioned, I am here to share my views on Islamic finance. I would like to apologies if I write in Malay as I can express things better in my native language. I know that my knowledge in this area is 'peanuts' to even talk about it but I think it's important that I share what I have learned. So if anyone out there who is reading this and know more about this subject, do share your knowledge and may Allah s.w.t guide us. Amin.

I decided to stay back after solat jumaat yesterday to listen to the the extended explanation (tazkirah) of the khutbah, which was about zakat. The ustaz said that in the Quran, most of the time when the command to perform solat is mentioned, the command to pay zakat will follow suit.

To give examples, here are two verses which relates.
[2:43], [4:77]

I believe that out of the many economic views (capitalist,socialist etc.), Islam has the best practices. This is because Islam ENCOURAGES its followers to seek wealth the honest way (halal) and share it with the community (zakat and charity). In Singapore, sadly the Malay community is known for its abundance in 'PhD' holders @ Perasaan Hasrat Dengki (envious,vengeful). Padahal Islam tak pernah ajar penganutnya untuk bersikap sedemikian. What we need here is for out community to support one another. If we see our brothers or sisters in Islam trying to set up a business venture, we should support it.

Purchase the products or services and if we like it, recommend to others and spread the word! But if we feel that somethings can be improved, meet up with the owners and share with them your views so they can improve. Not tell others that this shop is lousy or never to buy at that shop again. This mentality will only make our community decline.

Recently there have been a duo from NUS (National University of Singapore), composing and making songs out of passion and interest. Honestly I'm not really fond of their songs but I still support their efforts with a niat that one day with the whole community behind their back, insyaAllah they will be encouraged to create more interesting songs that can be enjoyed by everybody. Then we can say that our people are not 'backward' or slow. Anyway, what do we have to lose? money? For those of you who are more financially secured, what is $20/$30?

To those who have climbed the ladder and reached high up to the ceiling, NEVER forget to look back and check if anyone behind you needs help. You know the difficulties faced so reach out your hand and lend a hand instead of rocking the ladder and hoarding everything to yourself.

Wallahu'alam.

It seems clearer to you when you have goals to achieve.

But what happens when stop having new goals?

The reason why my life seems dull and stagnant is because i choose not to disclose what i'm doing and the reason why i choose not to disclose it is because i don't have a convincing reason to disclose it.

On a brighter note, syukur the iftar went well despite 40% of the attendance not 'attending' lol! Insyaallah if there's rezki i might even plan a raya outing =)

I'm itching to get a Super4 through direct selling and there are a couple of nice choices online. Insyaallah I'll get a bike soon and a job to go along with it =)
Almost halfway through ramadan and it's made me realise how unsincere my heart is.

Amin.

Why am I still searching for something that is already under my nose?

Say what you may but Insyaallah today's iftar will work out.

Quoted from a close friend;

"..we all already have someone which He has matched for us. We just need to continue striving for His love, and when the time's right, He'll bring our match to us."

Masya Allah. Only with knowledge, experience, wisdom and iman can someone come up with something so impactful in just 2 sentences.

May Allah guide us to the right path. Amin.

Rasulullah s.a.w wafat meninggalkan al quran and as sunnah.

Why did it happen? I'm not even 'qualified' to advise. Who do I think I am? I'm full of sins and consistently commiting them. What was I thinking, saying such a thing so carelessly??
Why do people desire things but refuse to put in effort and commitment? Miracles do happen but I think if you work towards your desire, the chances of a 'Miracle' to happen will be higher! Wallahu a'lam.

Jagalah Hati

As sung by Abdullah Gymnastiar @ AA Gym.

Amin.

Lillahi Ta'ala

Do we really know what is the true meaning of 'Lillahita'ala'?
Whenever we perform the solah we will always end the niat with "Lillahita'ala" or 'for Allah'.
But do we really know what it means and that everything that a Muslim does has to be for the sake of Allah. We 'love for Allah', 'hate for Allah', 'work for Allah', 'live for Allah' etc. But are we really practising this? I know it's difficult as a humble and weak person to be on par with the Sahabat, what more Rasulullah himself. But are we actually trying or do we keep denying the pratices just cause it's easier or difficult for us.

Whatever Allah has commanded straight up,we have to do. No questions asked! But why are majority of us still act as if it is okay to overlook this rules that He has set for us. Don't you know that it will bring more good than bad if we just follow them?

What if I said I wanted to marry now, at age 21 to a girl 2 years my junior. Both of us still schooling and don't have a proper job? Will my parents give the green light or will they tell me not to be rediculous? Which is better (or worse), falling to Maksiat vs Early Marriage? I hope that we can weigh out the pros and cons of this two things. Even if an early marriage seem to have more cons especially in a copetitive ebvironment in Singapore, Islam has set up reasonable options for the young couples to make their relationship Halal yet they can still live the life as normal youngsters.

Again I want to bring you back to the niat, "Lillahhita'ala". Why so scared to marry early if our niat is to have the blessings (redha) of Allah and not to fall into his Hell Fire.

Take a look at this 2 verses from the Quran and take time to think about it.

"Marry those among you who are single, or the virtuous ones among yourselves, male or female: if they are in poverty, Allah will give them means out of His grace..." {24:32}

"And come not near unto adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils)." {17:32}

I'm not saying that marriage is the only solution. However if the couple have been in a relationship and especially if it's quite a seious one. They could just break the relationship off totally or continue the silaturrahim with the family of in-laws. Afterall, Islam promotes and encourages sillaturahim amongst people especailly Muslims.

So again I ask, what's holding us back?

Lagenda Pencari

Hmmmm so the idea of 'Legend of the Seeker' is : no matter if you do good or bad, you still end up in the underworld and suffer the torment of 'The Keeper'. Maybe the writer missed this bit out? or maybe they have something else in mind?
